Venomous Snake Handling Experience: Kim has attended venomous snake handling trainings through Adaptation. Her interest in rattlesnakes came through her work running a rattlesnake detection dog. In addition to her dog being able to locate rattlesnakes, she has learned to safely handle and relocate rattlesnakes that get too close to human activity. She started this work being terrified of rattlesnakes, but as she’s learned about them, she now has a love and fascination for these amazing animals. She also works as a dog trainer teaching scent detection dogs. Blending her interest in rattlesnakes and canine scent detection, she teaches canine rattlesnake aversion classes. Unlike most people that teach K9 rattlesnake aversion classes, Kim does not remove the fangs, muzzle the snakes, or alter them in any way. The snakes she utilizes are treated humanely and with respect.
