Mark Khosravi: Qualified Venomous Snake Instructor
About: In 1992 Mark graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Biology. After about a couple of years of operating as a commercial pest applicator, he decided to seek a career in teaching and worked for Fairfax County Public Schools to teach 9th grade Biology. Twenty-five years later, he currently teaches AP Environmental Science and Geosystems.
Venomous Snake Handling Experience: During Mark's 25 year period starting in June of 2006 and until 2020 he worked for Fairfax County Park Authority as a Park Naturalist and Interpreter. Duties included designing nature programs providing snake handling demonstrations for Animal Control and sometimes managing the on site legally captive herptiles on site. It was also in 2006 that Mark became a member of the Virginia Herpetological Society and eventually became a member of the Executive committee for VA reptiles and amphibian ID. He has since transferred from the ID Committee over to serve on their Educational Committee. By 2020 Mark obtained a Wildlife Control Operator License with the state of Virginia to legitimize operations dealing with herptiles in his area of Northern Virginia. In 2021 Mark co-founded the K2C Wildlife Encounters LLC company with fellow member Bonnie Keller. The company has focused mainly on responding to Heptile calls and in addition reaching out to the public HOAs and other organizations offering educational opportunities about local Herptiles.
